Nike Raid 2014 Remake

  Nike recently treated sneaker fans to the Air Raid Jungle Gym from 1993 (which we covered here at Sneakerjawns), and now we're getting the 2014 remake.  The Air Raid brand has been building some steam this year with the Air Raid Low, Air Raid Jungle Gym, and Air Raid OG, and notably the Nike Air Max 1 featuring in the Live Together Play Together Pack with a Jungle Gym colorway.  On top of that, the 90s silhouette is getting releases at the beginning of the year with the Air Raid 2014 remake and the Air Raid Ray Guns.  The old silhouette is getting some attention from their makers, that is Nike, to give more variations to the classic style. The Nike Air Raid has much lore to it, designed by Tinker Hatfield as an outdoor counterpart to the Air Jordans, featured in commercials with Spike Lee, hence the Live Together Play Together ethos.  The 2014 Black and White Air Raid is not as colorful as the jungle gym, but style doesn't always come with flare.  Let's ...

Air Jordan 8 "Arctic Punch"


Nike is on point this year with their seasonal sneaker releases. The Jordan "Arctic" is one such release heating things up for a summer launch. Check out our review of the sneakers here. Nike has plans for spring, where we usually see bright colored offerings from sneaker companies. 

Spring makes us think of lots of color, flowers, which trends this time of year in the fashion industry and clothing stores. 

The Air Jordan 8 is Nike's latest product getting dressed up for spring time. The Jordan 8 silhouette usually ships out as a women's offering, which is further emphasized by bright orange and pink colors throughout the sneakers. 

Let's take a closer look at the Jordan 8 "Arctic Punch." Pink and orange cross each other on the white perforated leather uppers. The pink overlay runs over an orange overlay with a Velcro strap. There's a huge embroidered orange circle with a pink jumpman/jumpwoman logo in the middle. On the outsole is a combination of all the bright colors featured on the upper. 

The Jordan 8 "Artic Punch" will be available soon via Nike, likely during this spring.

Reebok x Braindead

BRAIN DEAD and Reebok are at it again, having worked together on the latter's more experimental shapes for the past three years. Both parties chose the legendary Club C Revenge for their current collaboration. Kyle Ng and Ed Davis have redesigned the shape, which is rooted in tradition. The upper features a fuzzy, moss-like construction that runs the length of the shoe. Throughout the sneaker, deep browns and blues work in combination with shades of green to create an arrangement that resembles overgrown grass and other natural phenomena. The famous logo of Ng and Davis' label is blended with the Reebok Classics emblem, and the term "BRAINDEAD" replaces typical branding on the lateral sidewall.
