Sometimes the swoosh aims to stay in the background, sometimes the swoosh encompasses the entire shoe. The swoosh becomes the shoe. We have seen that when Nike takes this encompassing route, it works. 

Nike's swoosh doesn't just steal the show but creates harmony with the shoe and joins the various parts. At Sneakerjawns we recently covered the Nike Zoom Freak 2 Alphabet which made a gargantuan swoosh across the shoe work. Check it out here. 

The next release receiving the big swoosh treatment is the Nike Zoom 4%. The swoosh is well earned as this pair pays homage to Nike's original name "Blue Ribbon Sports." 

Let's take a closer look at Nike's honorary sneakers. In exchange for its solid color, Nike has opted for a commemorative pattern adorning the entire upper. It's hard to see at first, and the pattern looks meaningless from afar. But upon closer inspection "BRS" is tiled throughout the shoe. 

There are two swooshes on both the left and right side. A big swoosh beginning on the vamp and ending at the laterals, and a small swoosh on the opposite lateral.

Reebok x Braindead

BRAIN DEAD and Reebok are at it again, having worked together on the latter's more experimental shapes for the past three years. Both parties chose the legendary Club C Revenge for their current collaboration. Kyle Ng and Ed Davis have redesigned the shape, which is rooted in tradition. The upper features a fuzzy, moss-like construction that runs the length of the shoe. Throughout the sneaker, deep browns and blues work in combination with shades of green to create an arrangement that resembles overgrown grass and other natural phenomena.
